This auction prize is for a three or four day stay in a luxury Gold 3 bedroomed lodge which sleeps up to eight people anytime between 4th September 2016 and 30th June 2017 (subject to availability, excluding all School and Bank holidays). This beautiful lodge is set in landscaped gardens at Golden Coast holiday Park. The lodge has central heating and double glazing, and lots of space designed for the perfect break.

Jeremy Bernard Corbyn is a British politician who is the Leader of the Labour Party and Leader of the Opposition. He has been the Member of Parliament for Islington North since 1983 and was elected Labour Leader in 2015.  

LOT 1 Original watercolour by John Hoare

John Hoar is one of the most exciting watercolourists in Britain today. His inspirations have been the great impressionist watercolourists who perfected the art of painting in the most direct and economical way. His paintings are widely sought after and he specialises in architectural subjects as well as landscapes, marine scenes and floral studies.

John was born in 1947, the son of Frank Hoar the cartoonist – “Acanthus” of Punch magazine and a highly accomplished watercolourist.  John read Architecture at Cambridge and Brixton School of Building and, although he studied drawing and painting with Ruskin Spear R.A., he is largely self-taught. He has painted professionally since 1980 and is represented in collections in England, Ireland and the USA.

John won first prize for watercolour in 1988, the Donald Blake prize in 2003 and the Lincoln Joyce prize, at the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour, in the same year. He is part author of ‘Watercolour Plus’, published by David and Charles in 2003 and in 2008 he issued a DVD called ‘Simplifying Watercolours’.

LOT 11   Vintage Clarice Cliff Pottery Vase - mint condition

Clarice Cliff is, today, regarded as one of the most influential ceramics artists of the 20th Century and her work is collected, valued and admired the world over. She was born on January 20th 1899 in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent and started work at the age of 13 in 'The Potteries'. Clarice moved to the AJ Wilkinson's pottery factory in 1916. She was ambitious and her skills were recognised so that eventually she was given her own studio. It was here that she starting creating her own patterns and the famous 'Bizarre' wares were launched in 1927.

LOT 19  EMF (Unbelievable) – vintage memorabilia  

Best remembered for the international smash "Unbelievable" and incendiary live shows, the British dance-rock quintet EMF formed in Cinderford, England in October 1989. All five members — vocalist James Atkin, guitarist Ian Dench, keyboardist Derry Brownson, bassist Zachary Foley and drummer Mark DeCloedt — were veterans of the local music scene before founding EMF.   



LOT 20  The Story of North Devon Boxing (Volume One) – signed by the author Dick Brownson

Dick, from Bideford, a former boxer, trainer, promoter and director of the British Boxing Board of Control, had the idea during his eight years as landlord of the Royal Exchange, Barnstaple, from 1978 to write ‘The Story of North Devon Boxing’.  Anyone interested in local boxing will love this signed copy of Dick’s first volume.  (He is currently working on volume two).



LOT 21   Wild Bill Longley – signed by the author Dick Brownson

  Dick Brownson is a native of the West Country and has spent his life involved in boxing and the entertainment business – but never lost his interest in the old Wild West which began as a school boy. He was a founder-member of the West Midlands branch of the English Westerners’ Society and during extensive reading came across reference to William Preston Longley, hanged for murder in 1878.  After almost four decades of research and numerous trips to America he has pieced together the biography of an enterprising but pathological killer.  Dick is also the author of ‘The Story of North Devon Boxing (Volume One) and various novels but ‘Wild Bill Longley’ is his first full length book.

            Sandy Brown is internationally known as an influential figure in             European and world ceramics.             Winnipeg Art Gallery, Canada; Frankfurt Museum of Applied Arts,             Germany etc.
